South Africa has turned out to be the latest in a long list of destinations for Muammar Gaddafi’s assets, with investigators in the country reporting that billions of dollars worth of cash, gold and diamonds belonging to the slain Libyan leader were deposited with two banks and security companies. The assets, which are yet to be returned to Libya, are suspected to have been deposited by one of Gaddafi’s associates, Bashir Saleh.
